was founded in 2006 by algae expert Koenraad Vanhoutte, PhD in Biology (University of Ghent) and Jan Vanhoutte. The company is funded by a mix of venture capitalists and business angels. SBAE Industries has developed a unique capacity to produce a large range of micro-algae in industrial quantities. Those algae can be used in aquaculture and bio-energy applications. The processes at SBAE Industries are 100% natural and clean. SBAE Industries currently employs 20 people, a mix of biology and industry experts, five of whom are PhDs. The company is based in Waarschoot, Belgium.
